TRAX is pleased to highlight our Korean simulation partner, DXlabz, which specializes in digital twin virtual modeling, operator training simulators, and data validation and reconciliation services. Joining forces with such a natural teammate abroad has enabled both partners to expand our international service and software offerings. With our combined effort, we work to provide first-rate service for our customers.
TRAX and DXlabz formed a partnership soon after DXlabz incorporated in 2020. We completed our first joint simulator delivery in 2023, collaborating on a Korean simulator with a Siemens interface using TRAX’s proprietary software, ProTRAX. Since then, TRAX has provided software for modeling carbon capture processes and several additional simulators. DXlabz has been pushing forward with new ProTRAX digital twin offerings, helping to meet the energy market in new ways.
In a recent 2025 project, we began jointly building simulators for two Korea Midland Power Co., LTD (KOMIPO) power generation units. TRAX built the initial process model for a combined-cycle unit, including gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, and a single steam turbine. DXlabz generated the corresponding controls model and is building the majority of the HMI (human-machine interface). Our combined modeling efforts are run in the ProTRAX software, presenting a seamless, efficient solution for the client.

While our partnership was established on simulators and modeling and simulation, DXlabz specializes in digital twin modeling. These experts both develop digital twin models and, more importantly, focus on elevating the maturity of those digital twins up to Level 3. This enables the models to make predictions about physical equipment.
Level3 Digital Twin
Level 3 digital twins are virtual systems that use gathered data to predict the future operational status of equipment or systems. This data sharing between real-world equipment and the digital version can help optimize energy use, prioritize certain operating regimes, or predict failures.
Jointly, digital twin modeling and simulation are a powerhouse combination for predictive work and the resolution of system issues. Mr. Ian Jeon, the Director of Business Development for DXlabz, says, “In our view, while digital twins primarily focus on anomaly detection, simulation is responsible for identifying root causes and anomaly boundaries, and the provision of optimal solutions is handled through a combination of simulation and AI.”

Together, we are focused on jointly providing optimized solutions for our energy industry clients, and our collaborative teaming lets us bring new, streamlined options to the table. We are already partnered on several projects underway, and are looking forward to additional growth. The Korean power generation market is undergoing a transition from traditional coal-fired power plants to combined-cycle power plants, and we are well-positioned to support this change and the growing combined cycle simulator market.
In addition to conventional power, DXlabz is supporting the renewable energy market and currently preparing pumped-storage hydropower simulators using ProTRAX. DXlabz states, "we are confident that future opportunities for collaboration with TRAX, particularly through the application of ProTRAX, will emerge in these areas, potentially expanding TRAX’s business domains as well." Together, we can develop models or simulations for biomass, bio-char, energy efficiency optimization, and energy asset management.
TRAX is looking forward to potential additional software innovation with our partner and we're excited to see what we can build together.
TRAX has delivered a carbon capture simulator for a 150 MW coal-fired unit that models the capture of the full flue gas stream. The system provides both CO2 and SO2 capture, delivering the captured CO2 to a pipeline for industrial use and underground storage.

As shown below, TRAX built a modular simulation replicating the plant layout using our software, ProTRAX. ProTRAX contains a full suite of modules specific to carbon capture functions and can model a wide variety of processes. TRAX also virtually replicated the user interface that appears in the plant.
Upon initial delivery, the TRAX simulator was used to debug control logic and processes prior to site installation and to provide operations training prior to plant startup. There was a clear need to begin training operators as early as possible since they had multiple unfamiliar systems to learn.
Thanks to the ProTRAX simulator, our customer gained considerable insight into control functionality and system interactions, resulting in modification to some control logic and correction of simple errors. TRAX was able to assist with controls tuning, and helped in development of initial plant Operating Procedures.
The latest upgrade brings the model into alignment with the as-built plant condition by updating and tuning the simulator models to match the current plant dynamics. In addition, TRAX has updated the simulator controls and HMI graphics to the as-built state. Keeping the simulator aligned with the current plant condition is critical to maintaining a positive training value, and is of paramount importance to the customer.
